Privacy Policy

ManasAstro ("we", "us") is built around a simple idea: your birth details and your questions are personal, and they should stay between you and the service. This policy describes exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do with it. It is written to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
What we collect
Birth and profile details. When you create a chart, we store the name label, birth date, time, and place you enter. This is the minimum needed to compute a kundli — the entire product depends on it.
Your questions and journal. Questions you ask, the readings generated for them, and any journal entries you write are stored so the app can show you your own history.
Device identity — no account, no login. ManasAstro does not use accounts, passwords, phone numbers, or email logins. Instead, your browser receives a random identifier (an "owner token") stored on your device. Everything you create is linked to that token and visible only to the device holding it. We cannot see who you are, and we cannot link your charts to your real-world identity.
Usage analytics (first-party only). Our pages record page views and clicks along with: the referring website's domain, your IP address, your timezone, your browser language, and your screen size. This is collected by our own server for traffic understanding and abuse prevention — there is no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no third-party tracker of any kind on this site, and your IP address is never shared with anyone or run through third-party geolocation services. Analytics records are automatically deleted after 90 days. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal, we record nothing at all.
Feedback. If you submit a rating or comment, we store it with your owner token's short prefix so repeated feedback from one device can be recognised.
Server logs. Like nearly every website, our web server keeps standard access logs (which include IP addresses) for security and debugging; request logs are pruned after 30 days.
Cookies and local storage
We set one functional cookie (`manas_owner`) and one localStorage entry holding your owner token — this is what keeps your charts on your device across visits. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Payments
If you purchase question credits, payment is processed by Razorpay, a licensed Indian payment processor. Your card, UPI, or banking details go directly to Razorpay — we never see or store them. We store only the order reference, the amount, and the credit balance.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never use your birth details or questions for anything other than serving you your own readings and improving the service.
- We never require your real name, phone number, or email to use the product.
- Our AI model is trained on classical Jyotish texts — not on your personal data or questions.
Your rights
Because identity is device-based, your data is under your direct control:
- Deletion: deleting a chart in the app permanently removes it and its readings from our database. Clearing your browser's storage for this site orphans any remaining data, which is then unreachable by anyone.
- Access and correction: everything we hold about a chart is visible in the app itself.
- Grievances: under the DPDP Act you may raise any data-protection concern with us via our feedback page, and we will respond within the timelines the law prescribes.
Data security and location
Data is stored on servers with encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) transport everywhere. Backups are kept for 14 days and then rotated out.
Children
ManasAstro is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children; readings concerning children's charts never include health, longevity, or gender-related content as a matter of firm policy.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will change and the new version will be posted on this page.
